what I'm thinking while experiencing the feeling of being shat

__2004-10-04 @ 11:28 p.m._______

I was shat into the city today (like most weekdays), while reading The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (seriously) and inadvertently listening to some herky jerky spanish hip hop from my dear adolescent friend sitting next to me. Which do you think I enjoyed, or even better yet, held my attention? Don't ask me how I ended up reading this book. I started reading it one day (seemingly for no fucking apparent reason) and now I'm half way through and I'm stuck...I won't let myself not finish it- it's fucking 54 pages long...and I swear the last thirty might beat me over the head with boredom until I bleed to death. But, for some reason, I'll finish it. It's like holding yourself from relieving yourself even though the bathroom is right there- you have this strange and ugly and impulsive desire to get through the thing before you will allow yourself any kind of satisfaction or ease. This is the self-torturing behavior I can exhibit at times. I don't know where it comes from, but anyone who really knows me can probably pick out about 10 different instances where this is true.

Anyways, couple of links to check out (beautiful transition right?)-
Ah, the Cubs- this is the only time I will mention this- it irks me to no end as to how this season turned out- but hey, in some ways, they got what they deserved- they played like shit in the last week of the season and really NEVER played fundamental baseball this season- here's a pretty good article articulating the mess.

Ah, Billy...my buddy off to the left there, had a great little news brief from some friends at the pleasant virtual music news stand down the virtual street. Such nice folks they have there- they give really nifty new knicknames over there like "0.0" Morrison and Sony "giant grotesque abomination," /BMG. Here's one of the funniest news articles I've read from them...check out the Pedro the Lion riff.
Lastly, I'm so pumped to see these guys are ready to come back into the public eye...such an amazingly boring band, ready to piss off US radio listeners with more pain for the ears. Thank god I don't listen to the radio.
