thanks to everyone for contacting me to wish me a happy birthday- it was a nice gesture and it made me miss all of you.
hey, I saw headlights last sunday and they were fucking fantastic. All of them were in absinthe blind and are touring in support of the enemies ep on polyvinyl records released this month. I talked to Brett, Tristan, and Seth about all kinds of things including Morrissey's cancellation of the Golden Gate Park...yes he canceled the whole park, it's gone for good. It was nice to see familiar faces from the midwest. Check out the mp3 they have on their site and on polyvinyl's site...really good stuff.
The record store interview /quiz from the other day did go well...just not well enough I guess. Ya see, the problem lies in the fact that I already work for a record store- a rival record store that supposedly does not treat the other stores with any respect whatsoever. The owner calls me and leaves this message that basically goes "hey Dino, we really liked you and you did well on the test and we know that you are willing to cut hours from ____music, its just that a couple of other people did just as well as you on the test and they don't have a job AT ALL so we're going to give them a shot at the position first. And besides, the fact that you currently work for ____music is just a little too much for us to get involved with- we know you would rather work at a store like ours and it's not your fault personally, but anyways, why don't you just give me a call, k? Oh, and Richard Thompson was in a brit folk group from the sixties called Fairport Convention- I was just looking at your quiz and it looks like you were trying to be a smartass with the Thompson Twins reference- I laughed out loud when I read it...anyways, yeah, give me a call if you would like." So I guess I didn't get the job, which is fine I suppose. But the Thompson Twins, that was right after I had just fucked up the Paul Weller question and was frustrated. Anywho, I think they like me, hehee:). Maybe the other dipshits'll have absolutely no customer skills and she'll gladly hire me a month from now.
So that's all I really have right now. I'm finishing up The Hours...have like 40 pages left, fairly quick read...and the new interpol comes out next week, which I'm sooo excited for- I hope we have instore copy of it. Oh, and BTW, no one out here gives a shit or thinks anything of GBV- I never thought I would say this (ugh Chad anybody?) but it irritates me to no end! GBV, much better than the bay area's stratford four or erase errata put together.
