Pale Marble Movie and Trains, Moving, Sounds, Calm Down, Slow Down, Speeding to Halt

__2004-09-10 @ 1:03 a.m._______

I'm sitting here at the apartment listening to Blur's Parklife and looking for new books to read at 1am while Jill tries to sleep and the bar downstairs tries to get the patrons to drink more alcohol and stay a little while longer. I don't mind the noise from downstairs, but when I'm relatively sober and it's a weeknight (Thursday night being the only one to get through) I just can't even attempt to sleep until 1am. Which really isn't that big of a deal, but tonight it's kind of grating. I finished Story of My Life today and I'm starting The Hours tomorrow. I read everyday (like the rest of the bart patrons) on the train and it's starting to become a necessary calming part of my day. I temporarily forget that I have to be somewhere soon or that I still have to walk another 10 blocks or that I have to pay another $2.90 to get back or forth.

I'm starting to feel more comfortable at work, mingling with co-workers that surpasses small talk...a very nice change indeed. A couple of them asked me if I skated and I was like "yeah, but I haven't done it with any consistency for like, 12 years." I sometimes forget how much people skate in the bay area. I mean, I've spent more than half of my life knowing that Embarcadero is one of coolest places to skateboard in the world, if not the coolest. But sometimes I forget that I practically walk past most of those famous spots everyday. So, hey, maybe I'll pick the ole' board up again and take a stroll someday...hopefully, I'll have the privilege of being called a "poser," in Embarcadero. I think that's what I'll do. I need to have that story, experience...if anything just to tell the certain people I know that would think that was really funny and a big deal.

Listening Station stats-
Morrissey- My Early Burglary Years
The Long Winters- When I Pretend to Fall
Absinthe Blind- Rings
Chavez- Ride the Fader
MK Ultra- The Dream is Over
Seam- the Pace is Glacial
(such an amazing record, just recently pulled from the collection)

That's about all I have...goin' to the beach this weekend and planning on recording some more Nolan demos (just started, but still excited!). Oh, and go Cubs.
