Street musicians, watch out.

Last Friday, I played guitar and sang songs down by the ped mall in downtown Iowa City. I had never done this before and was looking forward to a new experience as a performer. I took my acoustic guitar and set up near the entrance of the ped mall (by the corner of Washington and Dubuque). I laid my acoustic guitar case beside me and opened it in case anyone wanted to show some appreciation. Here’s a general list of songs I played over the course of two and a half hours. Oh, and by the way, without looking down at the bottom, guess how much money I made.

Valerie
My Shrinking Paradise
Godspeed and Steady Evolution
The Taxi Accomplice
The Ballad of El Goodo (Big Star cover)
My Morning Waitress
Every Charismatic Boy Will Fail
Take the Keys
Galleries
Slower
This is a Sporting Life
Quit My Corporate Job Today
Buddy Holly
The World Has Turned And Left Me Here
Dave Matthews is a Fucking Wannabe Hippie (after someone requested DMB)
1979
I Live Alone
The Midwestern Skyline
Some Stupid Dave Matthews Song (after my second Dave Matthews Band request)
The Flashing Lights
Bizarre Love Triangle (New Order cover)
Love Vibration (Josh Rouse)
Summer (Wheat cover)
Interstate

‘k, so that’s pretty much it. I made $27.57 and gave away a couple of Midwestern Skyline eps. That funded my Friday night and part of my Saturday as well. I might do this more often.:)
